For the month of August, the HSL Book Group will discuss Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore.

In this 2006 New York Times bestselling memoir, which spawned a 2017 film starring Greg Kinnear, Renee Zellweger, and Djimon Hounsou, Hollywood art dealing millionaire Ron Hall and former Louisiana indentured servant Denver Moore reflect on the unlikely friendship that developed between them thanks to Ron’s late wife Deborah’s volunteer work at Union Gospel Mission in Fort Worth, Texas.

The HSL Book Group meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Language, Literature, and History Section. New members are always welcome. No registration necessary.
