Healing the Earth and Atmosphere with Biochar with Dr. Paul Taylor

November 14, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Paul Taylor

Biochar is an inexpensive carbon-negative soil amendment, made from waste biomass such as invasive species.  Properly conditioned and applied to your soil, it can increase your food yield while reducing your fertilizer and water needs. This presentation by local Molokai resident, Dr. Paul Taylor, will be of great interest to backyard gardeners, farmers, ranchers, and anybody who wants to learn about biochar.

Find out about

  • the multiple benefits of biochar
  • how it is made
  • how it can improve the climate
  • how it can heal the soil
  • growing more and better food

There will be time for questions!

Dr. Taylor graduated with the University medal in physics from the University of New South Wales, Australia, received his PhD from the University of Colorado, and worked at the Harvard Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory. He is the editor and lead contributor of the book The Biochar Revolution: Transforming Agriculture & Environment, is a global presenter on the subject, co-founder of the Ithaka Institute for Carbon Intelligence, and co-developer of the Kon-Tiki biochar kiln, now in over 70 countries. Paul resides in Molokai as well as Australia, California and Europe, researching, writing and presenting on biochar, sustainability and climate change.
