January 10, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

| Free
Poi pounder with board

Lono Logan, is a cultural practitioner, who has spent six years practicing, learning, teaching, and demonstrating the knowledge of cultivating and preparing kalo (taro) and pounding it into poi.  Mr. Logan is also a professional photographer, whose family has lived in Laie for five generations.  He hopes to inspire people to find their own Kuleana, much like he found his six years ago.  His purpose is to share his family’s cultural knowledge of poi.

Join us for an informative overview of poi pounding and experience a demonstration and tasting session.

RSVP is encouraged, space is limited.

Program schedule is subject to change.  Contact the library at least 10 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
