Safe Falling for Seniors

November 2, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Man falling on ground

Falls among seniors are common and costly. These falls can be preventable, and measures can be taken to stay safe.

Norman Kumura and Bill Doi from Kupuna Aikido will explain the basics of fall prevention and techniques you can use to fall safely, decreasing the severity of injury from falls. Please note that this is not a martial arts class. This is a demonstration that will not involve physical audience participation.

This event will be held in the First Floor Reading Room and is suitable for adults. No registration required.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. Program schedule is subject to change.
