Welcome to the Liliha Public Library! Designed by Steven Oyakawa, a former student of Frank Lloyd Wright, our library opened on Dec. 12, 1966. Our uniquely-built library features skylights, rounded corners, and generous allotments of space for all parts of the building to create an ideal mid-sized library. Liliha Public Library is the only library in HSPLS with roof-top parking.

An instructor will be teaching Hong Kong (Cantonese) style mahjong, making it a great opportunity to learn the rules, practice your skills, and meet other players.

Storytimes for preschool age children feature themed stories, rhymes, and songs. Most storytimes will be followed by a simple activity. All children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Beginner Class
9:30am – 11:30am
This class is an introduction to needlepoint. You will learn the basics of needlepoint, how it differs from other needlework, supplies needed, how to begin stitching a piece and individual instruction as your piece progresses. The Aloha Chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild will provide experienced instructors and individual assistance to help you begin your needlework journey! A small needlepoint kit will be provided to stitch the ladybug shown. Take it home and bring it back next time to keep working.
Independent Stitching
1:00pm-3:30pm
Work on your current project in a friendly setting. Drop in anytime during the program.

Come visit Liliha Public Library on the 4th Saturday of every month to read to a therapy dog! This program is designed to give children a chance to enjoy reading aloud with no pressure and no judgment.
