Access to HSPLS facilities policy

Policy 600-6

The Hawaiʻi State Board of Education strongly believes that the Hawaiʻi State Public Library System plays an important role in meeting the education, vocational training and information access needs of our communities. As such, public access to the libraries is critical to meeting these needs. Accordingly, all state libraries to the extent possible shall use their best efforts to expand their hours of operation to include weekend hours. Any exceptions and/or waivers to this policy must be approved by the State Librarian.
