Microtonal Music and Mexican Food

July 23, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Piano keys

Futuristic music appreciation night.

Eat food, listen to microtonal masters and hangout!

Microtonality – our music scale has 12 tones.  Microtonalists divide the scale into additional notes giving them extra harmonies.   Franis Engel will play recordings of famous and infamous microtonalists.  She will present how microtonality works, why it sounds so strange, and how to appreciate new harmonies.

Hear futuristic music that you never imagined. We will play the arrangers game too! http://www.franis.org/out4improv
