April 24, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Ohi'a blossom

Celebrate Earth Week 2019 by joining us at a free screening of Saving ʻŌhiʻa, Hawaiʻi’s Sacred Tree”.  The documentary highlights the significance of Hawaiʻi’s native tree, ʻōhiʻa, and the current threat of Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death that is impacting at least 4 locations on Kauai and thousands of acres of forest on Hawaiʻi Island.

Kim S. Rogers, Kauaʻi ROD Outreach Specialist of the Kauaʻi Invasive Species Committee, will be present following the screening for Q & A session.

The film provides an in-depth look into the cultural and ecological importance of Hawaiʻi’s keystone species–and the potential impact of the current epidemic.
