The Hawaii Writer’s Guild invites the community of North Kohala to its Poetry Contest Awards Cermony and Public Reading.

The contest, sponsored by Hawaii Writers Guild, was organized by Guild members Michael Foley and Carol Prescott.  Students in grades 9-12 were invited to write a poem on the theme “My Kohala” that expressed their connection to the land and/or people of Kohala. Six winners were chosen, and will be honored at the ceremony, followed by a public reading of their poems.
All ages welcome!

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. All programs are subject to change.
