Celebrate the Year of the Boar and Kaneohe Library’s re-opening with a day of performances and activities. At 11:30 am, join us for a brief discussion of the history and tradition of the lion dance. This is be followed by a lion dance throughout the library and parking lots performed by the Gee Yung Dragon & Lion Dance Association.
Stay for a 1 pm demonstration of a variety of Balinese traditional dances, costumes and feature different Balinese musical instruments. I. Made Widana and Annie Reynolds are members of the Balinese Performing Arts and will also offer background information about each dance.
At 3 pm, chef and Windward Community College instructor Daniel Swift will give a mouth-watering demonstration and discussion on the art of chocolate and truffle making.
