The Story of Hina

November 1, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Storyteller Ann Nehaya Walsh

Storyteller Ann Nehaya Walsh will present a rich, fresh, and innovative retelling of a much loved Hawaiian legend…Come listen to how Hina (the Moon and Maui’s mother) and the people of Po (Keepers of the Night; the Mystery) assisted Maui in capturing the La (the Sun).  Ms. Walsh has been telling stories professionally since 1997.  Using wit, playfulness and body language, she weaves poignant and colorful stories from classical Hawaiian, Irish, or Native American Tales through original interpretative performances. This one-hour program is sponsored by the Maui Friends of the Library and is suitable for ages 17 and older.

Program schedule is subject to change.  Contact the library 15 day in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
