Dr. Steve Miller, a docent at the Honolulu Museum of Art with ten years of experience, will present lecture covering the early, classical, and modern periods of Chinese painting. We will compare the techniques, goals, and appreciation of Western and Chinese painting. The two major styles of classical Chinese painting, bird and flower and landscape, will be emphasized. We will understand how Chinese painting combines both reality and feeling. This is the second in a series of lectures by Dr. Miller, an award-winning docent at the Honolulu Museum of Art. The lecture will be held in the first floor reading room.
