Civil service positions with the Hawai’i State Public Library System (HSPLS) are filled through the Department of Human Resources Development (DHRD) State Recruiting Office.  Please visit the State Recruiting Office website to view any vacancy announcements currently in progress with HSPLS.

ALERT | In holiday observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, all public libraries will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2026.

ALERT | In holiday observance of Presidents' Day, all public libraries will be closed from Saturday to Monday, February 14 to 16, 2026.

ALERT | In holiday observance of Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalaniana‘ole Day, all public libraries will be closed on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

ALERT | The ʻAiea Public Library parking lot and access stairs from Hakina street will be closed beginning January 17 due to an unforeseen electrical issue. The Library will be open with parking on the street available. We apologize for the inconvenience as we work to resolve the issue.
