In celebration of the 2023 Summer Reading Challenge!
Dr. Sun-Hui Hung will be playing the erhu and discuss the historical context for the instrument’s role in Chinese classical music composition, poetry, and philosophy. Suitable for ages 5 and older. Young children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver.
Dr. Hung currently resides in Hawai‘i and has developed a unique style combining the Chinese elements of the erhu with traditional Hawaiian music winning her a recent Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award from the Hawai‘i Academy of Recording Arts.
