Are you spending more and more of your time tending to your older family member or close friend’s needs? It may start with driving your mother to get groceries or helping to sort through bills. Later, you may find yourself taking time off work to help prepare meals or go with her to the doctor. As our loved ones age, its likely a matter of “when,” not “if,” they will need our help.
This workshop will help you understand how to start the conversation, form your care team, make a plan, know where to go for help and care for yourself in the midst of caring for your elder. Please RSVP online or at the library.
About the presenter: Patricia Bemis, RN is an AARP volunteer and a family caregiver.
Co-sponsored by AARP Hawaii.
Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the library 10 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
