My grandmother and father were avid readers so I grew up surrounded by books. I began reading at an early age and often spent my free time in libraries. The Hawaiʻi State Public Library System offers me easy access to tons of books that I can browse, reserve online and pick it up at the McCully-Mōʻiliʻili Public Library. I also visit the library to check out their books on sale and always return home with at least one book to add to my home library. The library system makes it convenient for anyone to have easy access to books and magazines. I always carry a book with me when I go outdoors and take every opportunity to read. Here I am reading a book on chickens with my pet hen, Tricky.
