When Sheehy is using the Hawaiʻi State Library, she’s where she belongs.

Hawaiʻi State Public Library is my best friend. Relocating to Hawaii wasn’t necessarily easy, despite all those dreams and expectations I had for this beautiful Paradise. I had no family and friends in Hawaiʻi for the first couple of months. Hawaiʻi’s weather is unbelievably gorgeous that one would feel very sorry to sit home alone or go to beautiful beaches alone every day. I went to Hawaiʻi State Library for the first time and then went to the cafe nearby the beach with the books I borrowed from the library. It was a healing and happy experience. To this date, I visit the library regularly and keep my relationship with books happy. Librarians are probably the most amazing and kind people ever on the island. I love Hawaiʻi State Library!
